I've been working on getting the game manuals corrected for the 1.60 patch and I naturally also need to get the Dutch manual corrected. Seeing as I don't think too many people will be interested in this I thought putting up a public download link here on the Dutch forum is the best way of generating interest as you can now actually check the stuff and see how much work there is still to be done (of course I have no idea as I don't speak the language).
I have naturally done as much as I could by myself which is mainly cleaning up some weird stuff. Other than that I've went through the manual writing down some notes on things that either are untranslated (has been added), is missing something that is needed, or stuff that I've changed that is probably correct but naturally someone who speaks the language might want to check through the stuff. To make it easier to understand what exactly you might have to do, I've included the English manual source (without pictures to keep file size down) so that you can check if there is some line that is confusing you (for the time being you can assume that everything written in the English manual is correct).
Can't remember from where but I heard that the manual uses Dutch written in the way as people use it in Belgium which if anyone feels like it, could go ahead and change it to Dutch as spoken in the Netherlands (the majority of Dutch people live there after all). There are probably weird stuff in the writing I haven't noticed at all so if only possible try reading through the manual.
As a final point of note, if you want to edit the .DOC directly you have to be running Microsoft Office (and preferably something newer than Office 97, but I'm not sure if any incompatibility problems will arise) simply because if you resave the file in OpenOffice the formatting gets all messed up if you open it in Microsoft Office. Please provide a text file (.txt) or just post the changes directly here on the forum if you don't have Microsoft Office but are still interested in correcting the errors.
Oh and step-by-step instructions to get you started:
1. Download the Dutch TPR Manual (WIP) source from .
2. Get WinRAR or another application capable of extracting .RAR files and extract the archive you downloaded.
3. Go to the "Fonts" folder and right-click the "MERLINN.FNT" font file and choose "Install".
4. Now you're ready to start messing with the manual!
Oh and a big thanks to anyone interested in helping me out!
